6-10th of July – Film Festival in Montone

Founded by famous director Terry Gilliam, who lives just around the corner, the Umbria Film festival may not be the most famous one, but it´s most probably the smallest and most charismatic one – the main Piazza of the medieval hilltop-village of Montone, elected one of Italy´s most beautiful towns, is the auditorium. Smaller in size than those of most cinema centers, packed with chairs, that people bring down from their flats, 2 bars that offer their services – a scenery like the iconic one in Tornatore´s famous Cinema Paradiso!
